Judge William H. Pryor Jr. was appointed to United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit by President George W. Bush in 2004. Before to his appointment, Judge Pryor served as the Attorney General of the State of Alabama from 1997 to 2004.
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Judge Pryor received his B.A. from Northeast Louisiana University, and his J.D. from Tulane University Law School. Judge Pryor clerked for Judge John Minor Wisdom of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit before beginning private practice, where he remained until joining then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ staff.
