- Donald Devine, Author, America's Way Back: Reclaiming Freedom, Tradition, and Constitution; and Former Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management under President Reagan
How can America find its way back from economic stagnation, fiscal calamity, and the current national malaise? In his new book America’s Way Back: Reclaiming Freedom, Tradition, and the Constitution, Donald J. Devine argues the same way it has done in the past, through “a restoration of the constitutional synthesis of freedom and tradition” at the heart of the American experiment. Devine is a vice chairman of the American Conservative Union. He also served as Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management under President Reagan, and as deputy director of political planning for President Reagan’s presidential campaign. The new book has been praised by none other than Federalist Society President Eugene Meyer, who noted that “America’s Way Back follows on the work of my father, Frank Meyer, showing that libertarianism and traditionally oriented conservatism, while sometimes conflicting in specific policy areas, are complementary and vital as bulwarks of the West.”
The event, which is free of charge, is cosponsored by the Columbus Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society, the Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions, and the America’s Future Foundation. Cocktails and appetizers will be provided.
