  • Prof. John Yoo, Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley

John Yoo is a professor at the University of California's Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law. Professor Yoo received his B.A., summa cum laude, in American History from Harvard University. In law school, he was an articles editor of the Yale Law Journal. He clerked for Judge Laurence H. Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals of the District of Columbia Circuit. He joined the Boalt faculty in 1993, and then clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas of the U.S. Supreme Court. From 2001-2003, Professor Yoo worked in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was involved with a number of legal opinions addressing the Executive Branch's authority in times of national emergency and war.

Professor Yoo will be available following the program to sign copies of his new book, War by Other Means: An Insider's Account of the War on Terror. Refreshments will be served.
