In a recently decided and much publicized Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals case, the court struck down Illinois’ statewide ban on carrying a loaded weapon in public. Most recently, the court declined a request for en banc review. The Governor and Attorney General of Illinois are divided on whether to seek a Supreme Court cert petition in an attempt to have the law reinstated.
