Skyrocketing public pension obligations have posed significant challenges to cash-strapped states and municipalities throughout the United States, and have contributed to numerous high-profile municipal bankruptcies, including Detroit’s. Public pension reform efforts, however, are complicated by several constitutional and legal hurdles. Robert Alt will address these issues, including a discussion of recent public pension reform efforts in Cincinnati, and will answer your questions in a lively discussion.
