Allyson Newton Ho

Partner, Morgan Lewis

Allyson Ho focuses on complex commercial and constitutional appellate litigation. She has litigated in private practice and on behalf of the government in federal and state courts throughout the country, including presenting oral argument, conducting discovery, and drafting appellate briefs. She has also provided strategic advice to clients outside of formal litigation proceedings. Ms. Ho has substantial experience in constitutional, appellate, and civil litigation against the federal government, and has also litigated in matters involving contract disputes, antitrust law, and class actions.

Before joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Ho worked at an international law firm in appellate litigation. She also served from 2005 to 2006 as special assistant to President George W. Bush and from 2004 to 2005 as counselor to Attorney General John Ashcroft. At the White House, her portfolio of issues included all areas of legal policy, from tort reform to immigration. At the Justice Department, she focused on immigration enforcement and received an award from the attorney general for exceptional service.

Following graduation from law school, Ms. Ho served as a law clerk to the honorable Jacques L. Wiener Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, 2000-2001, and as a law clerk to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor of the United States Supreme Court, 2002-2003. Ms. Ho was previously an assistant professor of English at Asbury College.
