Jason Mendro

Partner, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher

Jason Mendro is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he practices in the firm’s Litigation Department.  Mr. Mendro is a corporate and commercial litigator with extensive experience defending class and derivative action lawsuits at the trial and appellate level, in both federal and state courts.  

Mr. Mendro has defended leading companies in complex litigation involving a broad array of disputes, including claims under the federal securities laws, ERISA, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the whistleblower laws, and the federal telecommunications laws.  He has conducted internal corporate investigations and represented companies in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and self-regulatory organizations.  

Mr. Mendro has defended numerous derivative actions, representing directors and executives against a host of challenges to their authority, decisions, oversight, and compensation.  His experience also includes the representation of special litigation committees and defense of corporate book and records lawsuits.   

Mr. Mendro served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gerald B. Tjoflat of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  Mr. Mendro graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2002.  He graduated first in his class from the University of Florida in 1998, where he received a Bachelors of Arts Degree.  Mr. Mendro was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa and honored as a Four-Year Outstanding Scholar, the university’s valedictory equivalent.   

Mr. Mendro is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C., California, and numerous federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Third, Eleventh, and D.C. Circuits.
