Anyone who has traveled on an interstate highway has probably had the same experience: A car gets trapped in the blind spot of a truck, locked in by traffic in adjacent lanes. The truck’s turn-signal fl ickers on and the truck begins to float into the car’s lane. Frightened, the driver acts on instinct, blaring the horn to warn the  encroaching truck. The truck driver, now alerted to the car’s presence, changes course, narrowly averting disaster....
