Mark Tushnet

William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law

Tushnet received his B.A. from Harvard University and his J.D., as well as an M.A. in history, from Yale University. While serving as a law clerk to Justice Thurgood Marshall, Tushnet is rumored to have authored a memo that dramatically influenced the opinion in Roe v. Wade.

Tushnet has been a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and he taught for many years at the Georgetown University Law Center. He is currently the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law at Harvard Law School.
