DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Description:=0D=0ASpeaker: =0D=0AProf. Jonathan Adler, Case Western University School of LawSeveral district courts around the country have now adjudicated challenges to President Obama's health-care reform act - with mixed results. Those cases are now making their way to the appellate courts, and, indeed, the State of Virginia recently asked the U.S. Supreme Court to grant certiorari and adjudicate the merits without awaiting appellate-court decisions. Professor Adler, a renowned federalism expert, will explain the litigation landscape and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the challengers' claims. Speaker Bio: Jonathan H. Adler is Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Business Law & Regulation at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Professor Adler is a contributing editor to National Review Online and a regular contributor to the popular legal blog, "The Volokh Conspiracy." In 2004, Professor Adler received the Paul M. Bator Award, given annually by the Federalist Society for Law and Policy Studies to an academic under 40 for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and commitment to students. =0D=0A=0D=0ARegistration Details: =0D=0A1 Hour CLE credit has been requested from the Alabama State Bar for this presentation.
