DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Description:=0D=0ASpeaker: =0D=0AMichael W. Lewis, Ohio Northern University College of Law Navy Fighter Pilot (Ret.) Unmanned aircraft have become ubiquitous on the battlefield for reconnaissance and weapon platforms. Drones have replaced cruise missiles in some circumstances and special forces units in others. To some extent, Drones have redefined modern warfare. As recently discussed by The New York Times, the Obama Administration has relied heavily upon drones in its program of targeted killing of al-Qaeda operatives. We are pleased to have Professor Michael Lewis join us to discuss the legal issues surrounding drones. Professor Lewis is a former F-14 pilot and Top Gun graduate. He obtained his law degree from Harvard University. Since 2006, he has been on the faulty of the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law, where he teaches International Law and the Law of War. His writing focuses on the law of war. He has published many articles on drone use, torture, military tribunals, and multitude of other national defense and international law related issues. =0D=0A=0D=0ARegistration Details: =0D=0ACost: $15 (lunch included) Pay at the door or in advance by cash or check (payable to “The Federalist Society”).
