DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Description:=0D=0ASpeaker: =0D=0AProf. Nicholas Quinn Rosenkranz, Professor of Law, Georgetown University What exactly do courts review when they evaluate whether a statute or a government actions is constitutional? Complex doctrines that have evolved over time have kept scholars employed, but have not come up with a coherent answer. Professor Rosenkranz has written two recent articles that offer a fresh, original and coherent answer to this question. As Professor Randy Barnett has written here, "Pathbreaking constitutional scholarship does not appear every day." Professor Rosenkranz has the ambition to take on the most fundamental problems of constitutional litigation - puzzles of ripeness, of standing, of severability, of “facial” and “as-applied” challenges - and solves them with his fresh approach by focusing attention on the subjects of the Constitution and the objects of the Constitution. His approach has been hailed as a new model of judicial review. Follow the links to read The Subjects of the Constitution and The Objects of the Constitution, and then come to hear Professor Rosenkranz speak on his new and exciting work. =0D=0A=0D=0ARegistration Details: =0D=0A5:45 pm to 6:15 pm - Reception 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm - Program Please reserve your seat by RSVP to sffederalist@gmail.com.
