  • Alexandra T. Schimmer, Ohio Solicitor General

The last U.S. Supreme Court term continued some trends from previous years: campaign finance laws are invalidated, class actions are harder to file, and standing requirements make many other cases harder to file, too.  What does the upcoming term hold?  Ohio Solicitor General Alexandra T. Schimmer will guide us through the cases you’ll want to follow in the year ahead.

Ms. Schimmer is a graduate of Princeton University and the Yale University Law School, where she was a senior editor of the Yale Law Journal, and she also earned a Masters of Philosophy as a Fulbright Fellow at Cambridge University in the U.K.  She was a law clerk on both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  Ms. Schimmer was an associate in the Columbus office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease, where she specialized in complex and appellate litigation.  She served as the Chief Deputy Solicitor General in the Attorney General’s office before being named as Solicitor General by Attorney General Mike DeWine.
