Marco Antonio Nájera Martínez is the head of Gardere, Arena y Asociados, S.C.’s competition, antitrust and regulatory practice in Mexico.  Mr. Najera’s experience is extensive in competition law, including merger control authorizations for a number of global and local concentrations, antitrust investigations, cartels, abuse of dominance and public bids.  He routinely provides regulatory advice to different clients in other areas of law including, among others, financial, insurance and health.  His experience is also broad in corporate, mergers and acquisitions including a wide range of cross-border and local transactions, with special emphasis in joint-ventures and financing.  Among others, he has been deeply involved in the financial, insurance, real estate, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and oil & gas industries in Mexico.  Marco Nájera has been recognized by the publication “Chambers Latin America, Leading Lawyers for Business”, as one of the leading practitioners in competition/antitrust and insurance in Mexico.  He obtained his J.D. at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), with honors, and has post-graduate studies at Escuela Libre de Derecho.  Foreign associate in the Houston office of Gardere Wynne Sewell, LLP, in 2008 and from 2000 to 2001.  Member of Mexican Bar Association and Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México.
